Great food, super nice conditions and a great atmosphere!

Very nice decelerated atmosphere right behind the front door. Friendly service, delicious food - something completely different for newbies! The food can be spicy, but that is also part of it (which should really not be understood as a warning, at best as a recommendation).

The stuff is super nice, they took their time to explain us the dishes and helpped to select. The restaurant has a very charming atmosphere. Thumbs up!

There you get both: friendly and brisk service. We were pretty blown away. Good price-performance ratio. The restaurant really has the potential to become my next favorite. My sisters and I find the inn suitable for all occasions, irrespective of whether it is with buddies, friends or clan; ).

Delicious African food, you can eat by hand. Very nice service and places outside on the sidewalk, where you can experience the big city life around the constable.

We sat outside at a nice little table and received a warm welcome. In order to be able to try a bit of everything, we decided on the mixed plate. All braised dishes (lentils, chicken, spicy beef, spinach, white cabbage) were delicious and spicy. For the African djudju beer (passion fruit, mango) you pay a little more, but it's worth it :) In addition to the good food, we had great conversations with the waitress, who is very loving. My first, but definitely not my last visit to the Savanna!

Everything is just right here: ambience, service, friendliness, taste, price / performance ratio - everything is extraordinary! Ideal location for a cozy, delicious meal!

Rude service and attitude, don't use masks properly, and they did not disinfect the menus, when they pass it from table to table. Very overpriced for a small dish. I was in the restaurant today with two friends. I ordered the lentils vegetarian dish and chose the couscous (from the options couscous/rice/injera) The lentil stew was ridiculously small portion and for sure it doesn't justify the price of 11€ it came on a flat, small plate which gives you a small portion (It’s very strange to serve a dish with a soup-like texture on a flat small plate and then use this as an excuse to say why the portion is small) My friend, who also ordered a vegetarian dish (with the same price) but with spinach and injera, got a portion that was at least double the size of mine. I finished my dish in one or two minutes and wasn't full at all. When I politely complained and asked for a bit more lentils, I got a very rude and aggressive comment from the boss who didn't try to help or understand at all, and she didn't wear a mask. She said she didn’t care at all if we wouldn’t come back or if we were satisfied customers. I was even more disappointed in this attitude. Also the menus were not cleaned by disinfectant when passed it from a table to another. The waitress wore a mask but only over her mouth, not over her nose. The prices of the menu had increased, which I can understand because of Corona, but the portion of my dish was extremely small. I was told that this is because I ordered couscous, but in the menu it was not written that if you choose couscous, your vegetarian dish will be smaller. It was very unfortunate and disappointing, especially the service. We'll not back, even though the food was nice.

We go there every year for my birthday. And it is always very, very tasty and a nice experience. Everyone is very friendly there and the food tastes delicious. We love to come back 😉

Definitely something unique. It takes some getting used to eating in a restaurant, but this makes the food, which is really delicious, a special experience. The service was super friendly and the ambience I like very well, as it is a beautiful combination of rustic Tradiotionellem and modern. I do not know much about the African kitchen, but I imagine that applies to the food here as well. It is like I said something else, but who does not back away, can look forward to a nice evening.

I went to the signboard, but I didn't know how to eat it, and I didn't compare it to what kind of food it was. Delicious potato that contains a material roasted dishes

This place is on the top 10 recommendations for Frankfurt city centre eating places. Totally earned. The place is small so maybe reserve a table because the food is divine. I enjoy good food in general but once in a while I'm lucky enough to have a different sort of experience provoked by good food. Maybe I'm just weird, yet sometimes restaurant food feels home- made with love and tastes like it's coming straight from the beginnings of our history. Like ancient and nurturing. Ok I'm definitely weird, I see it myself... their food is the real soul food, you should try it if you have a chance. They also received the first prize in a local "Frankfurt goes out" ranking for about 8 years in a row, so that says something :)

I loved it! We were recommended this restaurant with African cuisine, it has a very nice decoration, great variety of dishes and an exceptional price. The waiters have been very nice and have recommended dishes. The price is quite good, 3 people cost us 82 euros. Without a doubt, one of the best places in Frankfurt to visit.

Super tasty there. Was a tip of a colleague (Ethiopian). It seems strange to you at first, but it's really great. Have taken with my wife the "mixed" plate (6 different dishes) just to test a wide range.The service is very friendly and attentive! Priced, I would settle this restaurant in the higher midfield, but in my opinion worth every euro ! Very good also the traditional coffee. He is an absolute must! I was guaranteed not the last time.

The food in Savanna tasted overall quite good. We ordered the mixed platter, which has some vegetarian and meaty options options. The food was well done, you could feel the amount of spices in it (a similar feeling to eating indian curry). Thus this might not be for everyone, the food is quite heavy and one might miss one "food neutralizer" (which is usually the function of rice and bread. The platter had some sort of crepe with it, but it is a bit sour, so it doesn't fulfill it's role as a neutralizer. The srvice was very friendly and the place is really cozy - 5 points for ambient.

The place is very nice, easy to find. Stuff is very helpful and professional. Injera salad and dumplings were delicious, mixed plate was too spicy. Creme brulee was cold and sugar wasn't good carmelised. Choco mousse very good, banana a little bit too soft. A big + for very beautiful toilet

I love this place 😍😍😍 Delicious East African cuisine with great dishes. A paradise for the palate and a nice ambience complete the offer. Great appetizers and salads, also suitable for vegetarians. A family run restaurant with nice and very pleasant staff.

Nice African food

We came to Germany and encountered a beautiful evening with first class food, wonderful, sympathetic waitresses and the most authentic atmosphere. I didn't feel like eating with my fingers on that evening, so they politely gave me a spoon. I hope to be back on our next visit to Frankfurt!

This was my first experience with African food and it was a good surprise. If you don't care to eat with your hands and like spicy food this is your place. Be sure to make a reservation before and you must try the coffee.

Great food and service. We got a large plate to share. Only complaint is the number of yellow jacket wasps competing for our food.

The food is delicious and they offer a great variety of different dishes. People usually share the Maadi plate here which is a bunch of smaller portions of existing dishes. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to try something new, delicious and original at the same time.

As always, very good - the food and very friendly service. The restaurant is not big - but it is very cozy, no hectic. The ideal place to have something extraordinary to eat and chat.

One of the best african restaurants in FFM. Friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Coffee ceremony with popcorn is a must. Everything tastes almost like in Ethiopia.
